Welcome to Spanish in Nature at Kidwings, where the wonders of nature come alive for our littlest learners. Tailored for children aged 4 to 14, our program is all about nurturing curiosity and igniting creativity through the joys of outdoor exploration.

In Spanish in Nature, we provide a safe and stimulating environment where our young adventurers can begin to develop their love for the great outdoors. Our approach is deeply rooted in the philosophy of learning through play and active discovery. From bug hunts to fort-building in the woods, we offer a spectrum of hands-on activities that allow kids to immerse themselves in the world around them.

Our team of highly skilled educators serves as caring guides throughout this journey, offering support and encouragement in an environment that allows little ones to truly blossom. Through stories, songs, and outdoor play, our youngest participants begin to forge a lasting connection with nature while having lots of fun.

Immersive Learning

In our program, students are completely immersed in the Spanish language. Our teachers communicate with them in Spanish 95% of the time, creating a rich language-learning environment. This approach enables students to absorb the language naturally and with ease.

Native Spanish Speakers

Our teachers are native Spanish speakers, ensuring that students learn authentic pronunciation and language use. They bring the vibrancy of their culture into the learning experience, making it engaging and dynamic.

Experiential Learning

Nature is our classroom. Students learn Spanish by engaging in hands-on, outdoor experiences. They explore their surroundings, identify plants and animals, and discover wild edibles and berries, all while building a deep connection with the environment.

Adventure and Play

Learning takes place through adventure and play. Students create secret hideouts in the forest, build teepees, climb trees, swing from branches, make forest and nature crafts, and enjoy beach days, all while communicating in Spanish. This active approach keeps language learning exciting and fun.

Earth-Friendly Habits

We believe in nurturing a love for the environment. As students explore nature, they also develop earth-friendly habits, learning the importance of conservation and sustainability.

Get Dirty!

At Kidwings, getting dirty is part of the fun. We encourage hands-on experiences, whether it’s gardening, making mud pies, or simply immersing themselves in the natural world. Learning happens in the midst of nature’s messy and beautiful moments.

Location

We are a nomadic- style school, we rotate locations every day within the San Diego City Central Area. Students can explore a variety of local, natural places. Children are exposed to a diversity of environments, structures, materials, and challenges as they engage in activities in locations throughout San Diego such as parks, farms, community gardens, and historic places. Pick-ups and drop-offs vary everyday depending on the location.

Different Parks and open spaces within San Diego Central, no more than 18 miles from Downtown SD
Around Balboa Park, Old Town, North Park, College Area, and Tierrasanta among others
Local Beaches
Lakes
Canyons and more…
